We see the Haiti Water Project as a vehicle to empower churches in Haiti. We see the individuals and churches who donate as partners with the local churches in Haiti. The wells are build on church property so that the church becomes a place people can come to find water. The wells allow churches in Haiti to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the people around them. It allows them to become the source of both the literal and spiritual water of life. The churches will charge a nominal fee for the water (a few cents per five-gallon bucket), and that money will allow community members to contribute something and will allow the church to reinvest in any necessary repairs on the well in the future.
